After speaking with parents during parent-teacher conferences, it is clear that parents want tools to help their children at home but may not have the resources. Many families do not have computers or devices for students to use for online practice, so flashcards are a great alternative. My 4th graders will be using these math tools at home and school to support and build their basic skills in an engaging, efficient way. The flashcards are theirs to keep and use between school and home. They will all be labeled with student names, and depending on the subject we are working on in school, they will be told to take them home to practice either addition, multiplication, subtraction, or division. I will assess if the students are learning their math facts through weekly fact quizzes. The Pixel Tiles will be only used in the classroom with small intervention groups to help in a more hands-on environment. They can also be used for STEM activities for science. The great thing about the tiles is that they are interactive and more fun than basic math tiles.
