Before this project, students relied on fragile glass containers for cleaning their brushes—tools that posed safety risks and were constantly cracking or breaking under daily use. With the new stainless steel cleaners, my classroom now has a durable, long-lasting solution that can withstand the demands of multiple classes and enthusiastic young artists. This simple upgrade has brought a new level of professionalism and safety to our art room.\r\n\r\nStudents have already noticed the difference. They're able to clean their brushes more effectively, move around the room with confidence, and focus fully on their creative work rather than worrying about breaking glass. The stainless steel containers also help teach proper brush-care techniques, showing students how real studios function and helping them build habits that support their growth as artists. Their materials feel more legitimate, more \"real,\" and that sense of importance often translates into stronger dedication to their craft.\r\n\r\nYour support has created an environment where students can take creative risks without compromising safety. It has elevated our classroom from a space of \"making do\" to a space built for long-term artistic learning. Thank you for understanding that the tools we provide matter—and for helping to create a studio where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to create their best work. Your generosity has made our art room safer, more efficient, and more inspiring for every student who walks through the door.","fullyFundedDate":1758228968699,"projectUrl":"project/no-spills-just-skills/9614097/","projectTitle":"No Spills, Just Skills","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alvarado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2970742_orig.jpg?crop=1195,1195,x72,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755540172963","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2970742"},{"teacherId":7945921,"projectId":9576799,"letterContent":"The new ceramic whiteboard has made a wonderful impact on our Physics classroom! I am so grateful for the swift action by the community to get this project funded, in a time of uncertainty regarding funding for special education, it's heartwarming to know that the local community is willing to contribute to these students educational opportunities. \r\n\r\nOutside we now have outdoor seating and small tables that provide not only a space for students to work on the patio when they need a quieter work environment, but has allowed for private and comfortable 1:1 meetings and seating for groups during lunch. The students love that there are always chairs available outside for them, that are in good condition, and will often grab one of the new clipboards or their Chromebook and go out to enjoy the sun.\r\n\r\nIndoors we are starting to build our new science center and the students were amazed at how quickly the seeds we planted germinated and they are now excited for our first salad (when everything is ready). So far we have planted peas, cucumbers, lettuce, basil and parsley. With some of the extra seeds we planted them in pots outdoors and we were able to compare the growth rates between the two. They have really become invested in our plants and are looking for ways we can expand our \"garden,\" as they want to grow a \"salsa garden,\" with all the ingredients for making fresh salsa.\r\n\r\nSo again, thank you for helping invest in these students, and the ones that will be in my classroom in the years ahead.
