In years past many student got stuck on the design aspect of the project. Students had to share materials and sort of compete for the tiles they wanted to use, or wait for some students to finish. With the additional tiles you were able to provide through your donation, students were free to create. More students got to engage in the creative process. They were free to begin the mathematical processes sooner and with more confidence. Later in the project they calculated the cost of materials to build the pathway with a given set of prices for the blocks and operate within specific budget limitations. Over the years my class set of calculators had really taken a beating, and students were having to share calculators. Thanks to your donation we were able to provide calculators on a 1 to 1 ratio resulting in an increase in productivity and understanding of their lesson.\r\n\r\nWhen we did the second part of this design, in years past we used wood glue and students were severely limited in how much work they could compete in class as they waited for glue to dry. Thanks to your donation we were able to transition to using hot glue guns instead. This reduced the build time because the hot glue cures so much faster than wood glue. Kids were excited to complete their designs and my level of understanding and completion went up. It also gave me a greater opportunity to support students in need of assistance and remediation.","fullyFundedDate":1763612503636,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-pathway-and-bridge-building-pro/9850009/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Pathway and Bridge Building Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ulloa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10302776_orig.jpg?crop=2407,2408,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761020628366","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10302776"},{"teacherId":3373825,"projectId":9697679,"letterContent":"Over the last few weeks, my students and I have started working with the Cricut Maker to learn how it works and what it can do. They learned how to use the trigonometric functions in the calculator and were able to be more productive as they did not have to share calculators. \r\n\r\nThe effect of your support is still present in the classroom, since students are now trading in their phones for an assigned calculator.
