From day one of receiving these multicultural block people my students were creating scenarios of family play. When I took them out of the box my students were so excited. Before this we only had a couple very old play people for the doll house and none for the block center. \r\n Out of all the block people their favorite are the babies. As more than one third of my students have babies at home they are often playing with the babies. My favorite was when one of my students told their peer that everyone else in the house had to be quiet because the baby was \"finally sleeping\". the two students then proceeded to play using only whispers. I didn't know my student's could be so quiet during centers. \r\n Looking forward I am anticipating many more opportunities to use these block people. So far my students have used them in the doll house, the foam block area, and the fake snow before winter break. As we come back from winter break I would like to give them the opportunity to play with them in the kinetic sand and I'd like to try building cardboard houses for them in our tinker area. I know that my students this year, and for many years to come, will get so much fun and learning out of these block people.","fullyFundedDate":1764114198972,"projectUrl":"project/growing-language-skills-through-play/9925687/","projectTitle":"Growing Language Skills Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Fornsel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10280855_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758990953964","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10280855"},{"teacherId":8557736,"projectId":8776846,"letterContent":"Loved getting this and this years new math adoption uses this .
