Playing a musical instrument creates a welcoming environment where students are free to express themselves and at the same time accept and tolerate their peers. Learning and creating music demands integrity and builds a foundation of a common language shared by all. As they learn to play music, It creates intrinsic joy and at the same time creates joy in others around us who are listening. Lessons will be designed for social and mental health purposes: establishing and maintaining a community embedded in a culture of music. Students function cohesively when respecting one another when acknowledging and sharing their ability to create music as a positive contribution to the community of learners.
