Your generosity has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and I'm excited to share how these materials are being used every single day.\r\n\r\nThe classroom rug you provided has quickly become the heart of our learning space. Each morning, we gather on the rug for our daily meeting, a time dedicated to building community, practicing restorative conversations, and setting a positive tone for the day. Sitting together in this shared space helps students feel connected, seen, and ready to learn. One especially meaningful moment was when students used our circle time to talk through a small conflict and practice listening and empathy, skills that will stay with them far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWe also use the rug during song time, where students engage in sing-alongs paired with gentle, appropriate touch (like hand motions or partner activities). These moments not only build joy and connection but also support language development and confidence in speaking and participating.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboard easel has become an essential tool in our daily instruction. During our morning message, students gather eagerly to read and discuss patterns in language. It has also been incredibly valuable for phonemic awareness activities, where students practice hearing and manipulating sounds in words, an important foundation for early reading success. Seeing students light up as they recognize sounds or read a word independently for the first time has been truly rewarding.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our classroom is not just a place for learning—it's a space where students feel safe, connected, and excited to grow. These materials are used every day, and their impact is felt in both academic progress and the strong sense of community we are building together.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and helping us create such a nurturing and engaging environment.","fullyFundedDate":1769178022559,"projectUrl":"project/building-early-literacy-and-community-wi/10018384/","projectTitle":"Building Early Literacy and Community with a Classroom Rug","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Artica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403826"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70664","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":566,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":63,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":53,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":97.6,"schoolId":70664,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Diamond Creek Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Diamond Creek Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/roseville-city-school-district/diamond-creek-elementary-school/70664"}
