One of our first projects was painting pumpkins with the watercolor pencils, and the students were thrilled to see their creations come to life. This resource has already made a meaningful impact in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe organizer allows me to quickly file student work as it is completed, which keeps our class running smoothly and helps me stay organized throughout the day. Students have also taken more accountability for their assignments, knowing that their work will be filed and sent home promptly. Families are now receiving student work in a timely manner, which has strengthened the connection between home and school.\r\n\r\nYour support has truly made a difference in the way our classroom operates. Thanks to your support, I have been able to create a more engaging, imaginative, and enriching space where young learners can explore, collaborate, and grow. Every month, I change the theme of our play area in order to inspire new play, provide social emotional learning opportunities, and keep learning fun. This school year the play area has been able to transform into a pizzeria, apple orchard, pumpkin patch, bakery, taco stand, and post office. I loved seeing how their faces lit up with excitement when they walked in and saw the market stand for the first time. Students cheered and applauded. Jaws dropped. The kindergarteners could not wait to try out the cash register or prepare their first meal in a chef hat! \r\n\r\nRecently, I turned our dramatic play area into a post office for the month of February. I filled the market stand baskets with envelopes, pretend stamps, and paper. I could not believe how many letters students wrote to each other over these past few weeks! Next month, the play area will switch to a grocery store. This will give students the opportunity to do things like write shopping lists, purchase play food, read labels, and count pretend money. I am so grateful that donors like you enabled me to refresh my classroom play area this school year. My hope was to give my kindergarten students a special place in our classroom that inspires them to be creative and encourages positive social interactions. My classroom now has that special place and it continues to make a positive impact on all of the little learners who enjoy it daily.","fullyFundedDate":1731763871894,"projectUrl":"project/fixer-upper-kindergarten-classroom-play/8512132/","projectTitle":"Fixer Upper: Kindergarten Classroom Play Area Edition","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5139799_orig.jpg?crop=1427,1427,x0,y38&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721678757533","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5139799"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_130495","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":627,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":11,"percentAsian":21,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":42,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":18,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":93.2,"schoolId":130495,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Quarry Trail Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Quarry Trail Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/rocklin-unified-school-district/quarry-trails-elementary-school/130495"}
