A perfect example is how they're mastering fractions. Our students are now learning to use the calculators to input and manipulate fractions, and the best part is seeing the process on the screen, not just the final result.\r\n\r\nThis visual confirmation of how fractions are simplified, added, or subtracted is a game-changer. I had the privilege of have a medical pathway elective several years ago. Due to COVID and union issues, I lost the class. Since then, we had two principles come and go and the funding just wasn't there. I had given up my passion.\r\nWith the support of the Ventura County Office of Education and the CTE medical pathway team at Oxnard High School, I was able to resurrect the program as a club. \r\nWhen I got the green light in the Summer time, I got to work with donorschoose being my first stop. I knew that I had to the set the stage for my incoming participants. When students were given a choice of a medical pathway elective in the past, they just did not know what it entailed. With medical terminology being another language (in and of itself), my language learners were discouraged by the rigor. \r\nYour donation helps students FEEL like a professional and gives them the confidence to push through. They are \"dressing the part\" and full of pride. They are doing dissections, learning anatomy, and volunteering as \"medics in training\" at our sports games. With access to books that align with their reading levels and personal interests, more students are choosing to read during their free time, which is rare when they usually choose to play gamified content on their computers! This sharing of books and enthusiasm has created a positive and supportive reading culture in our classroom, where students are building confidence and becoming more independent readers.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, students no longer have to wait for our library to restock popular titles. Now, they have immediate access to books that truly interest them. This accessibility has been invaluable! They didn't just make these items; they also gained valuable knowledge about the power of plants in healing.\r\n\r\nA significant part of their journey involved researching the incredible properties of calendula and chamomile. They learned how to carefully dry these plants and infuse them into oils, unlocking their beneficial compounds for our creations. They learned a bit about marketing and product labeling, applying this knowledge to design unique and appealing labels for their handmade goods.\r\n\r\nWe are so proud of everything they've accomplished, and it wouldn't have been possible without you.
