My students are some of the most insightful kids I have ever met. In fact, my instructional assistant and I started a notebook of memorable things that they say or ask last year. They are happy, funny and some of the most caring kids I know. They take care of each other and every single one of them treat our class like we are family. It can be a challenge to integrate students with special needs into general education settings but my fellow colleagues (general education teachers) and I have made it a point to include our class - as we are the only special education class on campus. The school has a strong sense of community and full of very positive support. I have the same students that I had last year in 4th grade, they are now in 5th grade. They have thrived here at this school alongside each other because of the positive and supportive environment.
