Many of my students are already strong readers in Spanish, but they often struggle with English phonics skills such as short vowels, long vowels, vowel teams, and diphthongs. Having hands-on materials that allow students to physically manipulate letters and sounds has helped make these challenging concepts much more accessible and engaging for them.\r\n\r\nThe students were incredibly excited when they first saw the kits arrive. They immediately wanted to explore the materials and begin building words. Now, they regularly ask if they will get to use the magnetic letters during our reading time! One of my favorite moments this year was watching a student who had been struggling with vowel sounds successfully build and read several new words independently. The confidence and pride on their face was unforgettable.\r\n\r\nThese kits have also made our instructional time far more efficient. Because the materials are organized and easy to use, I am able to spend less time preparing resources and more time focusing on meaningful English Language Development instruction.
