Your generosity has enabled me to empower their creativity and offer them choices for how to demonstrate their understanding of the texts we are reading.\r\n\r\nMost recently as we've been reading Jason Reynold's Long Way Down, students have been able to use many of the supplies to visually represent and map out the complex character connections and motivations of each of the novel's ghosts. \r\nThe highlighters and post its are also a vital tool to visually map out both critically reading and help show connections in their own writing to make sure they are properly developing connections between claims, evidences, and analyses. \r\n\r\nOne thing I really appreciate about these supplies is that it allows me to give the artists among my students to shine.
