Because of your generosity, we were able to purchase a portable speaker that has truly transformed the energy and atmosphere in our P.E. classes. I now use the speaker as part of our daily routines, for example, the first student to finish a lap earns the opportunity to pick a song. This has created an exciting incentive that motivates students to push themselves while also building a sense of fun and reward.\r\nWhen the students first saw and heard the speaker in action, their reactions were immediate smiles, excitement, and a noticeable boost in energy across the entire class. What has been especially meaningful is seeing students who are sometimes more reluctant to participate come forward to request songs from their culture and even teach dances to go along with them. It has created such a positive, inclusive environment where students feel seen, valued, and excited to be active. The music has truly lifted everyone's mood and brought our class together in a unique way.\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using the speaker to enhance our daily activities, build motivation, and celebrate student voice and culture. It has opened the door for more student engagement and connection, and I look forward to continuing to create a space where all students feel encouraged to participate and have fun. Because of your generosity, my students now have equipment that has truly transformed their experience in P.E. The new dodgeballs have quickly become one of their absolute favorites. We use them during our dodgeball unit, especially for our \"Prison Break\" dodgeball game, where students have the opportunity to get back into the game after being out. This keeps everyone engaged, active, and excited throughout the entire class. The dodgeballs are also soft, which helps ease the fear for some students who may be hesitant to participate, and their bright colors make them easy to see coming, helping students feel more comfortable and confident while playing.\r\nThe footballs have also made a huge difference. Previously, we only had one, which limited participation during free time. Now, more students are able to throw, catch, and stay active at the same time. When the students first saw the new equipment, their reactions were priceless,so much excitement, smiles, and genuine appreciation. They truly felt cared for and supported, and it created a sense of joy that carried throughout the entire class.\r\nMoving forward, we will continue using these resources in our daily P.E. activities to promote teamwork, confidence, and active participation. This book has offered not just a unit, but an immersive experience into English Language Arts skills and standards. \r\n\r\nWe began the unit with a WeWillWrite.com activity where students creatively wrote stories accompanying images from the novel's movie. Students then wrote a reflection journal that would serve as a hook for the first chapter. Students made personal connections to the characters well before cracking open a book. \r\n\r\nThese books are challenging our youth to reflect on their own life experiences, society, and make connections between fiction and reality. After imagining what their houses would look like, each student was able to bring their house to life with all the materials you donated! This activity proved as a test of patience for many of the students and allowed them to practice problem solving skills in the moment. \r\n\r\nThe classes were filled with gratitude and enthusiasm. This may just be their favorite day of class this year! I am looking forward to making this a tradition with my future students.
