When the tricycles and traffic signs were introduced to the children, they literally cheered and jumped for joy! Because of you, our students now have access to safe, sturdy tricycles that are already bringing joy, movement, and meaningful learning to our school day!\r\n\r\nFor many of our kindergarteners, these tricycles are more than just something fun to ride—they are tools for growth. As students pedal, steer, and take turns, they are strengthening their gross motor skills, building coordination, and developing confidence in their growing bodies. We are also seeing important social learning take place as children practice sharing, waiting patiently, and encouraging one another during outdoor play. The children have decided that they would like to make a map so that all users understand the tricycle route on the yard!\r\n\r\nOutdoor movement is especially important for young children, and your support has expanded opportunities for our students to learn through play. The excitement on their faces as they ride, explore, and laugh together is a powerful reminder of how impactful your generosity truly is.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and for investing in their health, happiness, and development. Your kindness has made a lasting difference in our kindergarten community, and we are deeply grateful for your support.\r\nWith sincere appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1764628361917,"projectUrl":"project/pedal-power-building-strong-bodies-and/9808078/","projectTitle":"Pedal Power: Building Strong Bodies and Confident Learners With Tricycles!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Calica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3792942"},{"teacherId":4502537,"projectId":9372933,"letterContent":"When the new chairs arrived, my students were excited to try them out. The chairs also fit neatly on top of the desks at the end of the day, which has made clean-up quicker and more organized.\r\n\r\nOne small but meaningful change is that all the chairs now match. Over the past two months, students have flocked to the library during recess and class visits. It's truly incredible to see the engagement and love for reading at our school. Kids have a right to incredible titles that reflect the world they live in and help them understand who they are. \r\n\r\nThis week is banned book week and I've been reading The Day the Books Disappeared By Joanna Ho and Caroline Kusin and Illustrated by Dan Santat. It's a fabulous read aloud that celebrates themes of empathy, interconnectedness, and the value of diverse and differing perspectives. \r\n\r\nWe've also been highlighting Latinx stories for Latino Heritage Month (9/15 - 10/15) where students are sharing their own backgrounds. It has already become one of the most important spots in our classroom. We use it every day for reading and math groups, where students can get focused support in a calm and organized space. Having a dedicated area has made it much easier for me to meet with students in small groups and give them the individual attention they need.\r\n\r\nWhen the table first arrived, my students were so excited! They immediately noticed how it made our classroom feel more complete and inviting. Now, it's the place where we gather to read together, work through challenging problems, and celebrate progress. Our classroom aides also use the table to support students with IEPs and small group instruction, giving everyone a comfortable and consistent space to learn and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1758310120869,"projectUrl":"project/small-group-work-for-the-win/9716573/","projectTitle":"Small Group Work for the Win!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greenberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4502537_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736461423725","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4502537"},{"teacherId":4502537,"projectId":9315048,"letterContent":"When my students first walked into the classroom and saw the new shelves and benches, their faces lit up. Right away, they noticed how much more open and organized our library space felt compared to before. The benches quickly became a favorite spot, not only for reading together, but also as a place to sit during our Morning Meetings and even as a quiet space for students who need a short break when they're feeling overwhelmed. Having these cozy, functional seating options has helped our classroom feel more welcoming and supportive.\r\n\r\nThe new bookshelves have also been a huge improvement. Since they take up less space than our mismatched, bulky ones, our library feels much less crowded, and students can easily find and access the books they want. The organization and neatness have made our library more inviting, and students are spending more time browsing and sharing books with each other. As we continue to grow as readers, these shelves and benches will keep supporting our daily routines and projects, making our classroom a place where students truly want to read, learn, and collaborate.","fullyFundedDate":1746787394883,"projectUrl":"project/cozy-reading-for-engaged-readers/9315048/","projectTitle":"Cozy Reading for Engaged Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Greenberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4502537_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736461423725","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4502537"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3951","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":341,"numTeachers":14,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":41,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":26,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"24.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":77.9,"schoolId":3951,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Peralta Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Peralta Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/oakland-unified-school-district/peralta-elementary-school/3951"}
