We are wrapping up the last few weeks of the school year now. It's hard to believe that next week will be our final Funky Feelings Group for the year. \r\n\r\nSince this was a therapeutic group, I will not share too many details, but please know that this was a really special group. Students participating in the group asked almost daily when the next group would be. You could tell that they really looked forward to it. \r\n\r\nEach Tuesday, the students excitedly laid out their yoga mats for the group. They checked in regarding emotions they had experienced throughout the week using a visual emotions chart. I was impressed with how they learned to process through complicated emotions and experiences together. Afterwards, we listened to music and engaged in yoga exercises while learning about active ways to regulate our emotions and bodies. \r\n\r\nThe materials were also used outside of the group when other students needed a break or support in regulating. I hope to use the materials again next year when we plan to have similar social-emotional learning and therapeutic groups. During instruction, the culture has shifted. They are more attentive and responsive because they don't have the cold temperature as a deterrent. They also loved the different color choices. They also opted to provide a few blankets to our 1st grade buddies which was a very sweet gesture.","fullyFundedDate":1769445540038,"projectUrl":"project/project-warm-blanket-for-winter-learning/9974709/","projectTitle":"Project Warm Blanket for Winter Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gibbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp54308_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539670426854","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/54308"},{"teacherId":54308,"projectId":9760241,"letterContent":"My students immediately started using their water bottles.
