One special moment was watching students proudly explain their artwork to classmates, using new vocabulary and full sentences to describe what they created and why it mattered to them.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. They were eager to explore the new supplies and immediately began asking questions, making plans, and sharing ideas with one another. \r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using these materials to connect art with literacy and social-emotional learning. We are expanding our work into storytelling projects where students illustrate personal experiences, classroom themes, and favorite books. Being so engaged in reading helps students recognize their letters, learn new sounds—increasing their literacy skills in so many ways.
