The materials you helped provide—plastic straws, salt and pepper shakers, PVC pipes, and doggie bags—transformed our classroom into a dynamic learning environment where students could actively observe, test, and experience electrostatic forces in action. One of the highlights was levitating the plastic doggie bags using charged PVC pipes, which sparked genuine awe and curiosity as students saw invisible forces produce visible effects.\r\n\r\nThese demonstrations didn't just entertain—they deepened understanding. Concepts like charge transfer, attraction and repulsion, and insulation versus conduction became much more tangible. Students were able to discuss scientific reasoning and make predictions based on what they observed. Even those who normally hesitate to participate were excited to jump in and try the experiments for themselves. Your contribution helped turn abstract textbook ideas into concrete, memorable learning experiences, and for that, we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1704044362094,"projectUrl":"project/static-electricity/7798707/","projectTitle":"Static Electricity!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Hardman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6714483_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1574265284203","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mr-hardman-badger-springs"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53745","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1069,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":85,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":55.7,"schoolId":53745,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Badger Springs Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Badger Springs Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/moreno-valley-unified-school-district/badger-springs-middle-school/53745"}
