We are using the CVC word games, reading and writing kits, sight word posters, teaching clocks, pretend money, and Giant Magnetic Base Ten Set during small-group instruction and independent practice. One special classroom moment is watching students use the hands-on materials to practice skills they once found challenging. They are able to touch, move, match, build, and practice while gaining greater confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students were excited to see the new supplies and eager to explore them. The colorful learning materials and sensory resources immediately caught their attention, and students were especially excited to have new ways to practice reading, math, and writing. The calming sensory strips, stickers, and small incentives are also helping us encourage self-regulation and celebrate effort. These resources are making our classroom feel even more welcoming, organized, and engaging for all learners.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue building on these skills through individualized and small-group lessons. Students will practice reading CVC words and sight words, strengthen writing skills, work with numbers and place value using the base-ten materials, and apply math skills to real-life situations with pretend money and time. We will continue using the new resources to encourage independence, positive behavior, and confidence. Your generosity means more than words can express, and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness and belief in our students' potential. Because of your support, our classroom will be able to provide meaningful learning materials, updated resources, and a welcoming environment where every student can feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.\r\n\r\nI teach elementary special education students at a low-income rural school where many families have limited access to educational materials and resources outside of school. For many of my students, the classroom is not only a place to learn academics, but also a place where they receive encouragement, structure, consistency, and care. Your donation helps create opportunities that many of our students may not otherwise have access to, and that impact is truly life-changing.\r\n\r\nThe resources funded through this project will help support a wide variety of learning needs and abilities. Many of my students benefit from hands-on learning materials, visual supports, sensory tools, and engaging activities that help make learning more accessible and enjoyable. With your help, we can continue creating lessons and experiences that build confidence, independence, communication skills, and academic growth. These materials will help students stay engaged and motivated while giving them the support they need to succeed at their own pace.\r\n\r\nIn addition to educational materials, your support also helps us refresh and organize our classroom for the upcoming school year. Having a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment is so important for elementary students, especially for children receiving special education services. A positive learning space helps students feel calm, comfortable, and ready to learn each day. Supplies that help us clean and maintain the classroom allow us to provide an environment where students can focus, feel proud of their space, and enjoy coming to school.\r\n\r\nYour generosity also reminds our students that there are people in the world who care deeply about their success. Many of our students face challenges both inside and outside of school, and knowing that others believe in them can make a tremendous difference. Every donation sends a message that their education matters and that they are worthy of support, encouragement, and opportunity.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students, our classroom, and our school community. Your kindness will have a lasting impact on the lives of children who work hard every single day to overcome challenges and grow as learners. We are so thankful for your support and for helping us create a positive and engaging classroom where all students can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1778036398002,"projectUrl":"project/essential-classroom-supplies/10089436/","projectTitle":"Essential Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10059140_orig.jpg?crop=2469,2469,x100,y1088&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750270146897","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10059140"},{"teacherId":5977251,"projectId":9401208,"letterContent":"This year, our district discontinued our subscription to a school-wide English Language Arts (ELA) program that had been a key part of our students' daily instruction for several years. The bright, plush rug is soft and inviting, quickly becoming a favorite spot in the classroom. Students are naturally drawn to it; you'll often find them reading, listening, playing, or simply relaxing there.\r\n\r\nWith your generous donations, I was also able to purchase a wide variety of Yoto cards, giving my students plenty of choices and variety to explore. Their favorite so far is the dinosaur pack, while mine is the design-your-own card, which allows me to record books and lessons just for them.
