A newer concept is what is called flexible seating. This type of seating allows students to learn while being comfortable. Some students work better standing or sitting on the floor. Flexible seating would allow the students to work in an area of the classroom where they are not confined to the regular desk and chair. I have created standing and low sitting areas and will allow sitting on the floor. The seating (stools) I am asking for will help with the transitioning of my room into a more flexible arrangement. This arrangement will also help with a new program I am using for behavior that follows the curriculum Acting Right that I am using with performing arts. My seating will allow me to open up the front center of my room for circle time activities.
