Because of you, my students now have access to a powerful and meaningful text that has truly transformed our classroom experience. Your donation has allowed every student to engage with the novel personally, annotate their own copy, and participate in deeper, more thoughtful discussions. This story has opened the door for students to explore complex themes such as empathy, perspective, injustice, and the consequences of choices, topics that are essential not only for academic growth but for becoming thoughtful, compassionate individuals. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an active and engaging process. Students are not just reading words on a page, they are questioning, analyzing, and connecting. With these novels, we have been focusing on skills such as identifying them, analyzing character development, understanding point of view, and recognizing dramatic irony. Students collaborate in partners and small groups, participate in creative activities like role-playing and \"Instagram-style\" character profiles, and use evidence from the text to support their thinking. These strategies help make reading accessible and meaningful especially for my English Language Development students, who benefit greatly from having their own copy to revisit and interact with the text. \r\n\r\nIt has been especially rewarding to see students who were once hesitant readers become fully engaged in the story. Some of my quieter students have found their voice during discussions, while others are making powerful personal connections and asking insightful questions about fairness, history, and human behavior. One student shared that this was the first book that made them \"feel something real,\" which speaks volumes about the impact of your contribution.
