Your gift has made a remarkable difference in how we learn, share, and grow together each day. The iPad has quickly become an essential part of our daily routine. I use it to display lessons, model strategies, and showcase student work in real time. This instant sharing allows for meaningful feedback right in the moment, helping students reflect, revise, and strengthen their understanding while the learning is happening.\r\n\r\nThe iPad has also transformed student engagement. Learners are more motivated than ever to share their work with the class, knowing their ideas can be displayed and celebrated instantly. It has created a culture of pride, collaboration, and excitement, where students learn from each other and are eager to participate in discussions and activities.\r\n\r\nPerhaps the most powerful change has been watching students take the lead. They use the iPad to explain their thinking, demonstrate problem-solving steps, and even teach short lessons to their peers. This opportunity builds confidence, reinforces their learning, and gives them a true sense of ownership over their education. Thank you again for your generosity and for believing in our students. Your support has provided more than a tool. It has opened doors to deeper learning, real-time connection, and a classroom full of inspired learners.","fullyFundedDate":1753901851588,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-classroom-learning-with-an-ipa/9505697/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Classroom Learning with an iPad","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Marie Bliss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5477514_orig.png?crop=1096,1096,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753678040519","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-bliss"},{"teacherId":4856550,"projectId":9120231,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our DonorsChoose project! Because of your generosity, my second graders received the most magical St. Patrick's Day surprise—a class goldfish, now affectionately named Mr. Nugget, and a beautiful tank to call home.\r\n\r\nThe students were thrilled when they walked in and saw Mr. Nugget swimming around. Most were convinced the leprechauns had left him! Since then, he's become part of our daily routine—students love observing his behavior and even writing about him in their journals and stories. He's sparked lessons about habitats, responsibility, and living things, and inspired more curiosity than I imagined. Many students enjoy just sitting in front of the tank while working because of its calming environment.\r\n\r\nI hope that Mr. Nugget's legacy will continue on for years to come - and he may find a friend to join him in his tank next year for a new group of students. We felt the need to challenge them in new ways and these books helped us do that.\r\n\r\nThe kiddos who read The Tale of Despereaux loved it so much they asked for the title of the book so they could buy their own copies. We also watched the movie together to compare and contrast the two together. Students were challenged over and over to think about deeper thinking level questions and asked to put themselves in the characters shoes. Every time, they stepped up to the plate.\r\n\r\nOverall, the first grade class made an average of 18 months of reading growth (that's double what is expected). We truly believe these books helped our students get there.\r\nThank you for all of your support and help getting us to this point! The bookshelves, bins, and cubbies have provided designated spaces for every item, from books to art supplies, giving our room a clean, welcoming, and efficient learning environment. It's wonderful to see them confidently navigate the classroom, knowing exactly where to find and return their materials.\r\nThese resources have not only helped my students stay organized but also created a calm and focused atmosphere that supports academic engagement. As we continue with our lessons, the next step is to incorporate routines that further enhance their organizational skills. We're working on a \"Daily Materials Check\" where students review their bins at the end of each day to ensure everything is in place for the next morning. This routine teaches them responsibility and prepares them for future academic settings.\r\n\r\nThis project has empowered my students to become more independent, organized, and confident learners. We use them daily as part of our movement and sensory breaks, which help my second graders stay focused and energized throughout the day. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with pure excitement. They were eager to jump right in—literally! They immediately began exploring, balancing on the stepping stones, and seeing how high they could bounce on the trampoline. It was a joy to witness their curiosity and enthusiasm as they discovered new ways to move and learn.\r\n\r\nThese resources have truly transformed our classroom environment, making learning more interactive and engaging. As we continue our phonics lessons, I'm planning to incorporate even more movement-based activities. Our next step is to create a \"Sensory Spelling Relay,\" where students will hop, bounce, and balance their way through spelling challenges.
