Students in my school have grown up in an all-inclusive environment. They benefit from a diverse community that supports and integrates students with minor to severe disabilities in the general classroom. Here students learn to cherish differences and support one another. The students in my classroom are brilliant, and in first grade go from decoding words to reading chapter books! They learn through integrated subjects and project-based learning. They excel at technology, benefiting from multiple different differentiated websites. To them, learning is both fun and accessible. They are cultivating a love of learning while recognizing that everyone has different strengths. They benefit from an education that focuses on kindness and mindfulness.
