These have given them a novel input to focus on and relax their minds and bodies. Some of my students even tell me \"I'm not ready yet to talk Ms. Cornejo, let me flip it one more time!\" Similarly, the textured stickers and the fidget squishes have worked great to create sensory strips. These students are learning to implement sensory strips as a strategy to take a short break and re-focus their attention on academic content.
