During Reader's Workshop my students are finding themselves fall more in love with reading. As we explore Fiction and Non-Fiction texts, my students are wanting to select fictional texts that they all can journey on together. James and the Giant Peach is a classical text for 5th grade that will bring joy and allow their imagination to flow into James journey with this magical peach of his. My students are not only going to read this book, but will create book clubs; guided reading instruction will be given to them to meet individualized reading goals and needs. James and the Giant Peach will be a tool for growth and for students to continue to foster love and passion for reading.
