During the Oobleck investigation, students explored how Oobleck behaves differently from normal liquids and learned that it is a non-Newtonian fluid because it can act like both a solid and a liquid depending on the force applied. During the gas reaction lab, students observed bubbling and gas production as evidence that a chemical reaction occurred. These hands-on activities helped students better understand science concepts through observation and experimentation. We are incredibly grateful for your generous gift and contribution to our classroom learning experiences.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were extremely excited and eager to begin the labs. Many students were surprised that a mixture like Oobleck could behave in such an unusual way. Students were highly engaged during both investigations and enjoyed working together to test, observe, and discuss what they noticed during the experiments. Your support helped create memorable learning experiences that made science feel exciting and interactive for my students.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for my students are to continue connecting hands-on investigations to scientific explanations and vocabulary. Students will use evidence from the labs to explain the properties of matter and chemical reactions while participating in claim-evidence-reasoning (CER) activities to strengthen their scientific thinking skills. Thank you again for supporting our classroom and helping provide meaningful science opportunities for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1769036636542,"projectUrl":"project/oobleck-gas-reaction-lab/10034758/","projectTitle":"Oobleck & Gas Reaction Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sailor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10409522_orig.png?crop=1072,1072,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768869362790","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10409522"},{"teacherId":10350987,"projectId":9896638,"letterContent":"My students are utilizing one bookshelf to easily store and access their English textbooks. The other bookshelves houses the new classroom library, where students can check out books to read in and out of the classroom. It also houses class plushies and relaxation activities, such as coloring books.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited and grateful when I introduced the two bookshelves to them. It's been a huge help in increasing student agency when they forget their chromebooks and need to access their hardcopy textbooks and have an accessible place to retrieve them. Students no longer have to carry heavy textbooks to and from school or wait for a teacher to print out a copy of the text we're reading. Students are also reading books in extra time during class, which has led to them checking out books to continue reading them.\r\n\r\nThank you for your donation and for supporting our students here at Liechty Middle School!","fullyFundedDate":1769177716628,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-bookshelves/9896638/","projectTitle":"Classroom Bookshelves","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. The containers have made a huge difference in helping keep the library organized. Puzzle and game boxes rip extremely easily when used by large groups of people, so putting them in a solid container has alleviated this issue. I cut the top off of the box and included it in the container so there is a visual of what is inside. Another reason why this has worked for my library is that many of the students are below grade level. The majority of the educational games I have say they are geared towards Pre-3rd grade or 5-7-year-olds. Middle Schoolers will absolutely not want to play a game if it says that. Cutting that part off of the cover before I put it into the containers eliminates that reluctance. \r\n\r\nThe clipboards with storage have made my life easier because I tape the schedule for two days on top and then store what I will need for those days lessons inside. I have the perfect amount of clipboards to last for my two week rotations. \r\n\r\nThank you again for helping me organize my new library.","fullyFundedDate":1757717570301,"projectUrl":"project/organize-my-library/9667895/","projectTitle":"Organize My Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Friedenberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1213497_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473116097101","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1213497"},{"teacherId":10079577,"projectId":9463308,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding this project. The students have been able to have equal access to tools and resources for their learning. \r\n\r\nThe Chromebook chargers have helped immensely! Students are all able to access technology. \r\n\r\nThe highlighters in particular have been so useful in students annotating the texts that we read. This has helped them become a lot more engaged, allows them to color code for understanding, and have a deeper understanding of the text. Without these highlighters, we would not be able to annotate and reading comprehension would have taken a hit! \r\n\r\nThe pencil sharpener has also been a great help. It was always a struggle to get students pencil, but now every student is able to have a writing utensil. \r\n\r\nThis is true for everything else that was donated.
