The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will assist them with coping with the grief and loss that many of them have endured during COVID-19. Many students have faced the death of a parent, sibling, family member or friend while adjusting to life through distance learning. Through art, students in elementary school can find a way to express themselves through coloring, drawing and writing. The crayons, journals, photo-books, etc. are all materials necessary to facilitate grief groups at the school. Art is such a powerful tool for healing and these supplies will allow for my students to cope through their grieving process.
