They immediately wanted to explore the different sensory toys, touch the TheraPutty and Kinectic sand, and see the light boxes and lava lamp. Having different choices allows each student to find activities that are comfortable and help them to regulate their emotions. \r\n\r\nWe are so grateful to our donors for helping us create this special space. This project has become a cherished event at our school, not just for our 4th graders who design and build the games, but for all of the students who get to come play and win special prizes.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the materials arrived, the excitement in our classroom was contagious, and news of the arcade quickly spread throughout the school. Working in teams, students planned, designed, built, tested, and improved their arcade games using the donated tools and supplies. Throughout the project, they practiced creativity, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving while applying math, engineering, and design skills in an authentic way. Some of the highlights were watching students troubleshoot challenges together, celebrate each other's successes, and proudly help early elementary students enjoy their finished creations.\r\n\r\nThroughout this arcade project, our students discovered that perseverance, teamwork, and creative thinking can turn an idea into reality. Thank you for making this unforgettable learning experience possible.
