Sometimes that looks like tears, sometimes frustration, and sometimes not having the words at all. Because of your support, we now have books that help us slow down and talk through those moments together.\r\n\r\nThese stories have become part of our daily conversations. A child will hear a character say how they feel and suddenly it clicks. I've heard students say things like \"that's how I feel\" or \"he is mad like me.\" Those connections are powerful. Instead of guessing or reacting, they are starting to understand themselves and each other a little more each day.\r\n\r\nWhat has stood out the most is how this is carrying into their play and interactions. I see students trying again after getting upset, checking in on a friend, or using simple words to express what they need. It is not perfect, but it is real growth. After a read aloud, I see students bringing the stories into their play, acting them out in dramatic play, using new words with their friends, and making connections like \"we learned about that.\" It is amazing to watch them take what they hear in a book and turn it into something meaningful during their day.\r\n\r\nI have also seen students who are usually quiet begin to share more during reading time.
