This supported their time as they completed their assignments either at home or in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThe students also benefited from the classroom's exclusive printer because if they misplaced a document that pertained to a certain activity, I was able to quickly print it and give it to them. So far I have been able to use many of the books. I've been able to select books relevant to the students I work with and sit and read it together in my office one on one. Then have discussions on what they thought about the topics and how they relate to them. I had a little girl that can ordinarily be easily distracted, sit fully engaged and asked to hear it \"one more time\" because the topic was relevant to her life and her personal struggles. Books can help children feel seen and understood, and can help pave a path forward for coping. \r\n\r\nThe small drum has already been used by several students and is excellent for building rapport, creative expression, and regulating their nervous system. \r\nThe small wooden bowls I've been using with a large bin of uncooked rice for sensory play. This also helps regulate nervous systems and provides a way to comfort children and help them feel more at ease while discussing difficult topics. \r\n\r\nThe notebooks have been given to specific students as a journal to write their emotions as a positive coping tool. I customize them by adding helpful prompts. Several students have brought them up to me to show me what they have written and drawn, and are grateful for the resource. \r\n\r\nThe stress balls and fidget items have been distributed to specific students that are dealing with stress and anxiety and benefit from a comfort item in class.
