An iPod and wireless speaker will be used to help my students learn through music and movement. In our classroom, where students are very actively learning, having an iPod and speaker will support students in learning, understanding, and reviewing new skills and concepts through song and dance. Research has found that an exploration of music and movement is important to language development. In the classroom, I have found that my students have a natural love for singing and dancing and I want to use this love to provide them with opportunities to apply music to learning, while also building their language skills. Through music, my students, especially my auditory and kinesthetic learners, will be able to access and enhance their creative, musical, and artistic skills. By using the iPod and speaker in the classroom, I would like to provide a rich learning environment that will help keep my students engaged in the learning process and build their language and communication skills during all subject areas throughout the day. I believe that through the use of these resources, it will help to improve their language, increase their alertness, benefit their health, and provide them with more joy and excitement in learning. Donations towards this project will motivate and support my students in reaching their highest learning potential.
