We love using our cozy, safe space for learning. Students are more excited to come to RSP and more likely to keep trying even when they're having a hard time with reading. We use the squishmallows as reading buddies during independent reading time, and you can tell they're a favorite for helping students feel calm and focused. The blending whiteboards are something we also use every day during phonics to practice sounding out words, and the boomwhackers and stretch tubes are perfect for movement breaks that help students reset their bodies and brains--or for practicing phonemic awareness and figuring out how many sounds or syllables are in a word.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were so excited. There were lots of hugs for the squishmallows. One student said the room felt \"so comfy,\" and another told me it made reading more fun. It always brings a smile to my face to see how excited they are to come to RSP. \r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, we will keep building strong reading habits through small-group lessons and independent reading time. Students will continue using the blending boards to grow as readers while having tools that help them stay calm, focused, and ready to learn. This space has already made a big difference for my students, and I am so thankful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1757732715672,"projectUrl":"project/senso-reading-room/9680301/","projectTitle":"Senso-reading Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mx. The drawers can be slid in and out, the shower curtain can be moved to the side, and the little beds can be made. All of this play is a powerful opportunity for students to strengthen their fine motor skills as they play, giggle, and learn.\r\n\r\nThank you for the meaningful support of our classroom. My most reluctant learners are the most likely ones to come to the table to \"play\" with the letters, giving me incredible new opportunities to teach the letters in a hands-on, play based way. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for your support of this project.
