This gift allows us to create study color coded flashcards that we can use to study vocabulary, visual concepts, and create proper sentence structure. \r\n\r\nI use the card stock and strips to make cards for the vocabulary they learn: pink for nouns; green for verbs; orange for adjectives; and purple for prepositions. \r\n\r\nTo celebrate Hispanic Heritage month, we recently used cardstock to make sturdy cards of Hispanic countries and flags. The students used the card s to match the flag to its country, then many engaged in a \"Go Fish\" game! They engaged actively and had fun. A great substitute for computer or pencil and paper assignments.\r\n\r\nI hope to use the Spanish novels at the end of the school with my Spanish 1 B students. In this way they can see how far they have come learning Spanish. At first, they were a little confused as to why we were learning to crochet. It is very common for students to come in the classroom and go straight to the crochet table to grab thier bags to continue crocheting their project\r\nThey respectfully crochet while listening to our agenda and any available time. \r\n\r\nIt is great to see everyone helping each other and giving each other tips. At first it was pretty difficult for everyone, but after a few days it became second nature. They can talk and crochet at the same time! And we save a lot of time not fussing to try to make 33 students happy with the lighting. \r\nEven other teachers, staff, administration, and parents comment on how much ot improves the esthetics of the room.
