The following week, students participated in \"Bounce and Jump\" using our new playground balls and learned how to jump rope—with the help of their classmates.\r\n\r\nThis week, students got to pair up and choose from three different P.E. activities. We're already seeing amazing growth in their jump roping, tossing & catching, and bounce & catch skills. Today, they played a safe and fair version of basketball using our kid-friendly playground balls—and they were both successful and so happy!\r\n\r\nIt's been just three weeks, and we've already seen so much fun and progress. With your donations we have been able to bring science lessons to the next level with enough materials for each student to experience their learning in a hands-on way. \r\n\r\nWe have used the resources in our science unit about human body systems. Students have learned about skeletons, muscles, and tendons and that was all accompanied by a project using string, paper clips, and dot stickers. Students created a model of a finger and learned how the tendons attach to bones and muscles to allow movement. There was so much excitement around this learning. We have used the sugar cubes, flour, cups, and plates when learning about earth systems and erosion. The owl pellets were by far the biggest hit! Students learned about owl adaptations, habitats, and diet in their information writing unit. Being able to dissect the pellets allowed them the opportunity to really understand what they had been researching.
