I have been teaching for ten fantastic years. It is such an incredibly rewarding job. I am constantly trying to bring new strategies, practices, and resources to my students. It is an exciting time in education right now. The Common Core standards are putting collaborative student talk and project based learning back in the front of all learning. I believe in students learning through discussions and hands on activities. Kids need to explain their thinking to really make meaning of what they are learning. I work with a lot of students that are English learners and I believe that giving them lots of opportunities to work and speak with their peers will accelerate and deepen their learning.
