I Have read aloud the book \"The Couch Potato\" students were amazed the of pictures and what was happening. I stopped in between and asked for predictions and help build background knowledge. I made them wonder if they do any of these things at home. Students were surprised of the outcome and amazed of the things they can do if they go outside. \r\n\r\nAfter the read aloud we water painted a potato and students wrote a sentence \"Instead of being a couch potato, I can go outside and ____\" students fill in the blank. I was amazed of all the ideas they came up with. This has helped my students stay off of technology and go outside and play. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for the donations. As a teacher of RSP students with IEPs—including those with autism, ADHD, and emotional disturbances—I see daily the challenges they face in regulating emotions and maintaining focus. The calming corner, with its soothing lighting, sensory boxes, fidget tools, and comforting textures, has truly transformed our classroom into a place where students feel safe, supported, and understood.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been greater than I ever imagined. My students are naturally drawn to the space, and when they sit there, they find a sense of peace and belonging that feels like \"home\" inside the classroom. The tools you provided not only help them manage their emotions but also restore their ability to re-engage in learning with confidence. I've watched students who were previously overwhelmed calm themselves, self-regulate, and return to their work with renewed focus—all because they had this space available.\r\n\r\nI am profoundly grateful for your generosity and the difference it is making in my students' lives every single day. Your kindness has gone far beyond providing items; you have given my students dignity, comfort, and a safe place to grow. Thank you, thank you, thank you—words could never truly capture the depth of my appreciation.","fullyFundedDate":1746671735252,"projectUrl":"project/calming-corner/9260150/","projectTitle":"Calming Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Miller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10001462"},{"teacherId":7939347,"projectId":9087668,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous donation! All of the items will allow for success in the classroom but the whiteboard markers are the most needed. I am only provided with a limited amount of markers each year which end up being replaced with markers I buy myself. The markers are used almost daily by students which leads to them drying out. Using markers is a fun and engaging way for them to practice various skills such as letter formation, addition problems, and even proper hand holding. I'm glad to have such a large amount to carry me into the following school year.","fullyFundedDate":1745846956892,"projectUrl":"project/money-manipulatives-for-financial-litera/9087668/","projectTitle":"Money Manipulatives For Financial Literacy!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Manigan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7939347_orig.jpg?crop=1677,1677,x29,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724284916287","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7939347"},{"teacherId":7939347,"projectId":9086600,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for donating to this project.
