The materials requested will set the foundation for my classroom community that welcomes all learning skills and abilities. Many students read at various independent reading levels and may not have access to appropriate texts at home. These materials will help me as a novel teacher create a print-rich classroom with an inclusive library that has my students in mind. Students will be able to choose books that they enjoy reading and enjoy understanding in depth. With these new books, my students will be motivated to read about diverse characters in order engage their interests while improving their contextual comprehension. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. The books will also be used during social emotional learning to aide my students both academically and socially. Aside from the new books, the document camera and office supplies will allow me to create interactive literacy lessons, especially as they transition from virtual learning to in-person learning.
