Because of you, our 8th grade historians now have an incredible space to learn, explore, and grow — not just academically, but emotionally too.\r\n\r\nThe items you helped fund — from balance chairs and air purifiers to historical games and headphones — are already helping us create a classroom that feels both energizing and peaceful. Whether it's using Guess Who? to learn about historical figures, or relaxing in the wellness corner with a book after a big test, your donation is making a real difference in students' daily lives.\r\n\r\nYour kindness truly helps make history come alive and supports student wellness in such a meaningful way. The peppermint insect repellent has helped to keep our crawly critters at bay and of course, the ink for our classroom printer has been so helpful for those who cannot print assignments at home.\r\n\r\nEverything that you provided has been an essential part of our classroom restock at the beginning of the year and we are very grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1757524142318,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-the-basics/9695540/","projectTitle":"Back to the Basics!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Birchler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2017181_orig.png?crop=271,271,x30,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606175421671","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-birchler"},{"teacherId":2017181,"projectId":9479272,"letterContent":"We just got our new whiteboards installed in the classroom and they are amazing! They are easy to write on and completely wipe clean which is key for the type of group work we do on these surfaces. The markers are a necessity as we do go through a lot of them each month.\r\nStudents have enjoyed using the new pencil sharpener and we have been able to print student assignments from our in class printer. Some students forget to print assignments for other classes, so we are often able to get those printed during my class as well.\r\nFinally, the reward candy has been a big hit as there are a variety of candies included!","fullyFundedDate":1755705164889,"projectUrl":"project/math-classroom-refresh/9479272/","projectTitle":"Math classroom refresh!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Birchler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2017181_orig.png?crop=271,271,x30,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606175421671","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-birchler"},{"teacherId":2021259,"projectId":9584971,"letterContent":"On behalf of my entire class, I want to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for your donation of new school supplies and technology. Your support has already made an incredible impact in our classroom, and the excitement from the students is palpable every single day.\r\n\r\nThe new technology, in particular, has been a game-changer for how my students learn. It allows us to explore topics in ways that a textbook simply cannot. For example, instead of just reading about the solar system, we can now use the tablets to take a virtual 3D tour, flying past planets and seeing their scale in a dynamic way. This hands-on, visual approach helps solidify complex concepts for students who struggle with abstract ideas, making learning more accessible and engaging for everyone.\r\n\r\nWhat my students find most exciting is the interactivity. They are thrilled to be able to do more than just listen; they can now create, design, and problem-solve. The ability to use educational apps to build circuits, animate a short story, or even code a simple game has sparked a new level of curiosity and passion. They see learning not as a passive activity, but as an adventure they can actively shape.\r\n\r\nI've seen a remarkable change in particular students who have truly warmed to this new technology. One young boy, who is often very quiet and hesitant to share his ideas, has completely come out of his shell. He has a natural aptitude for the new software and has become our classroom's resident expert, confidently helping his peers and leading small group projects. Seeing his self-esteem blossom has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provides more than just tools; it provides opportunity, confidence, and a renewed love for learning. Thank you for investing in our students and their futures.","fullyFundedDate":1755832503327,"projectUrl":"project/math-classroom-essentials/9584971/","projectTitle":"Math Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ware","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2021259_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1503590405089","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/chromebooksforware"},{"teacherId":2017181,"projectId":8974690,"letterContent":"For summative reviews, I like to have laminated questions that students complete on vertical whiteboards. We did this activity today during class and students were working diligently and doing tons of math! They like grabbing the different cards and completing questions in their teams at their own pace rather than sitting and working on a review worksheet.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, over the years my calculators have been used so often that some of the buttons no longer work. I appreciate the replacement calculators that have been provided to my students! They noticed that there are a few new ones. I am happy to have a full class set of calculators so all students can access one when needed.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generous contributions to our class needs.","fullyFundedDate":1733286109020,"projectUrl":"project/math-classroom-necessities/8974690/","projectTitle":"Math Classroom Necessities!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Birchler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2017181_orig.png?crop=271,271,x30,y36&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606175421671","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-birchler"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_105108","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1118,"numTeachers":42,"percentFrplEligible":20,"percentAsian":63,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":9,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"26.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":95.5,"schoolId":105108,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jeffrey Trail Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jeffrey Trail Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/irvine-unified-school-district/jeffrey-trail-middle-school/105108"}
