As we break for summer today, almost all of the books have arrived and the last box (TORCH) is on it's way. It's wonderful to see the sets ready for the start of a new school year, and a few copies of HOW TO READ LITERATURE LIKE A PROFESSOR were already checked out for summer reading!\r\n\r\nStudents were so excited to hear that a school book club is convening in the fall; they've already got a few titles to discuss as possible nominations for next year's California Young Reader Medal. In addition to these three official selections, your support of this project is also extending the reach of our school library; as students hear about the club, they are more likely to check out other Young Adult novels. This in turns helps promote a reading culture at the school as friends share book recommendations with each other and our staff.","fullyFundedDate":1780430110262,"projectUrl":"project/books-for-california-young-readers/10298675/","projectTitle":"Books for California Young Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Enger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1445249_orig.jpg?crop=666,666,x63,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1569472701472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-enger"},{"teacherId":1445249,"projectId":10300490,"letterContent":"When I signed up for the \"What's New in Young Adult Literature\" training from the Los Angeles County Education Office, I was excited to learn about new fiction and nonfiction for teenagers. As she did this, I feverishly added titles to my Amazon wishlist that I knew our students at HMSA would want to read.\r\n\r\nAfter I heard about a funding opportunity through Donors Choose, I had these materials ready to request for our library.
