When students manipulate fidgets during storytelling, they sustain attention for longer periods while managing restlessness or anxiety. For example, one student who previously struggled to sit through a five-minute picture book now listens attentively for fifteen minutes while holding a fidget toy. Another student uses a textured object to calm nervous energy, allowing him to focus on story comprehension.
