These books will allow me to teach using both fiction and nonfiction. Surprisingly, my students have been especially drawn to the nonfiction books, even though they can sometimes be more difficult to read because of the specialized vocabulary. The most popular book so far seems to be National Geographic Kids: Titanic.\r\n\r\nI selected books with subjects and stories that I thought would interest my students. This is especially important for students who find reading challenging. Finding books they actually want to read can make such a difference.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, this will be the first time I am able to teach a novel with my students at this school site. The students have already voted on our first book, I Survived the Japanese Tsunami, 2011.
