The moment the rug was unrolled, my students ran over, smiling and gasping with excitement. \"It's so soft!\" one student shouted, while another pointed out the letters: \"Look! There's the A like in my name!\" It instantly became the heart of our classroom. We now start every day gathered on the rug for morning meetings, where we sing our welcome song, talk about the calendar, and share what we're feeling. It's where we read stories, learn our ABCs, and have conversations together. The rug has brought a sense of warmth, comfort, and routine that has helped my students feel connected from the moment they walk in. Next, we're working on letter recognition using movement games right on the rug, hopping to letters, tracing them with our fingers, and finding the letters in our names. This cozy learning space has made everything feel more joyful and engaging.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping us create a space that's not only functional, but full of heart!","fullyFundedDate":1755704784620,"projectUrl":"project/where-letters-and-little-learners-meet/9538134/","projectTitle":"Where Letters and Little Learners Meet","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Moreno","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5421894_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754361739917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5421894"},{"teacherId":9703905,"projectId":8698157,"letterContent":"We are so incredibly grateful for your generous support of our K-3 multiage class! Thanks to your donations, our students were able to dive into an exciting STEM project where they designed and built their very own marble roller coasters. Using foam tubes, pool noodles, marbles, tape, cups, and lots of creativity, the students worked together to meet important engineering criteria: their coasters needed at least one loop, two hills, and a track that kept the marble moving from start to finish. The moment the materials arrived, the room buzzed with excitement — students could hardly wait to start experimenting!\r\n\r\nThroughout the project, students learned firsthand about momentum, gravity, force, speed, motion, and friction. They documented their process through photos and videos, capturing every twist and turn of their designs. We also created multimedia presentations explaining how each roller coaster worked, using the required vocabulary. Watching their pride as they presented their finished projects was truly unforgettable. Moving forward, students will be applying what they've learned about forces and motion to build even more complex structures, using their new understanding of physics to problem-solve and create.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving us the opportunity to create such meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
