Because of you, my AVID seniors will each receive a copy of Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss, a meaningful and inspiring gift as they prepare to graduate and take their next steps into the world.\r\n\r\nThis book holds a special message about perseverance, courage, and embracing life's journey. These are lessons that resonate deeply with my students as they reflect on how far they've come and look ahead to their futures. Your contribution is more than just a book; it is a lasting reminder to each student that someone believes in them and is cheering them on.\r\n\r\nMany of my AVID seniors are first-generation college-bound students, and your generosity helps make this milestone even more meaningful. The snacks you provided play an important role in helping students feel physically and emotionally regulated when they come in. In restorative practices, we recognize that connection and problem-solving are much more effective when basic needs are met and students feel safe, supported, and respected. Having these resources available helps create that foundation for meaningful conversations.\r\n\r\nOften, students come into my office during moments of stress, conflict, or overwhelm. Being able to offer something as simple as a snack helps shift the dynamic from correction to connection. It creates space for students to settle, reflect, and engage more openly in restorative conversations. These small acts of care help reinforce that the goal is not just to address behavior, but to understand needs, repair harm, and strengthen relationships within our school community.\r\n\r\nYour donation has had a direct impact on my ability to implement restorative practices in an authentic and consistent way. We have already begun using these materials in our daily lessons, and I've seen students participate more actively and confidently. One of the most meaningful moments came during a recent activity when students used the new resources to support their thinking and discussion—they were more willing to share ideas, build on each other's responses, and take academic risks.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were genuinely excited. Several immediately asked when we would get to use them, and their enthusiasm carried into our lessons. It was clear that having access to these new tools made them feel valued and motivated. For many of my students, especially those who benefit from additional support, these resources have helped make learning more accessible and engaging.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to use these materials as part of our ongoing classroom work, especially as we focus on strengthening students' reading, writing, and communication skills. The metal cart has helped us organize student supplies so that materials for hands-on activities are easy for students to access and clean up. This has made our classroom much more efficient during labs and group projects.\r\n\r\nThe student supplies are being used daily during our agriculture lessons, especially during interactive activities where students work in teams to complete tasks, analyze information, and create projects related to agriculture and food systems.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have been especially helpful for our technology-based learning. Students use them when watching agriculture industry videos and instructional content that supports our lessons. This spring, they will also use the headphones while completing certification training videos, which require students to focus and work at their own pace. Having individual headphones allows students to clearly hear the material and stay engaged without distractions.\r\n\r\nMy students were incredibly excited and grateful when the materials arrived. Many of them immediately noticed the new organization in the classroom with the supply cart and were eager to start using the new materials. The headphones were a big highlight because it allowed every student to participate comfortably when we watched instructional videos.\r\n\r\nStudents were especially appreciative knowing that generous donors supported their learning. It helped them see that people beyond our classroom care about their education and opportunities in agriculture.\r\n\r\nOur next steps involve continuing to build students' knowledge of agriculture careers and industry skills. Students will be using the headphones to watch certification training videos and complete guided notes as they learn about food safety and agricultural practices.\r\n\r\nThey will then apply what they learned through hands-on activities and discussions in class. These experiences help students connect classroom knowledge to real-world agriculture careers while building practical skills they can carry into future projects and leadership opportunities through FFA.","fullyFundedDate":1763474854445,"projectUrl":"project/agriculture-visuals-supplies/9753379/","projectTitle":"Agriculture Visuals Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Duran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8695325_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758650817302","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8695325"},{"teacherId":1502172,"projectId":9642590,"letterContent":"I cannot express how helpful and useful the supplies that were provided to our kids with your generous donation. However, we don't want students to struggle in meeting those expectations simply because they don't have the supplies and materials necessary to maximize their potential. It's an increasingly difficult time financially for a lot of parents, and our school serves mostly a lower socio-economic demographic so for some of them, these supplies help alleviate a tremendous burden.\r\nThe pens, post it tags, binders, highlighters, snacks, etc, all go straight to the students are they are expected to have them with them every day. The dry erase markers stay in the AVID classrooms for student use as they are used every week by our AVID students during \"tutorial\" which is where the students come in with homework problems from other classes and work on them together in small groups, using whiteboards and the dry erase markers. We go through hundreds of dry erase markers every year so they are incredibly useful and greatly appreciated. \r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity.
