I will be adding this book into their reading for the spring final project on the the power of persuasion and how our interactions with "reality" are affected by propaganda and lack of education and logical thought. My students' homes rarely have books in them, and this would allow us to go 1:1 with the material so they do not have to share a class set. I am teaching juniors and AP Literature to seniors. My seniors have been exposed to some of our greatest literature this year, and some of them have expressly communicated to me that they wish they had gotten into reading earlier. They didn't realize what a profound experience reading a great book could be and how it can change one. I am determined to give my juniors that chance now. I think they'll be all the more likely to challenge themselves to take AP Lit next year if they realize how beneficial reading is now.
