Hands on learning opportunities help create a fun path toward figurative math - - Math they can see in their mind. For example, the multiple types of thought stimulating counters and the Lakeshore Counting Tray to 20 are my favorites as they allow practice in several skills: Kinders practice counting with 1 - 1 correspondence forward and back while the tray provides a foundational template of the 1 - 20 frame patterns which students will need to see in their mind for figurative addition and subtraction to/from 20. It is also used for 1 more and 1 less lessons as a second learning method to a number line. It's a treasure trove of learning!\r\n\r\nDid you know that in recent years, patterning, sorting, and comparing with Venn diagrams have been left out of new math curriculum? Your donation is allowing a path to these important, real life skills that are not often practiced because of the changes.\r\n\r\nThe math pattern puzzles have been separated and leveled to differentiate for students who are at varying levels of counting.
