These resources have already made a wonderful difference in the way my students learn and work together.\r\n\r\nOur students use the whiteboards during group work in writing, reading comprehension, and math. Instead of simply listening or writing in their notebooks, they can work together to share ideas, solve problems, explain their thinking, and make changes as they learn. One of our favorite moments has been watching students work together on practicing the first step in writing, TAPP, using the whiteboard to show different strategies and then explaining their reasoning to their classmates. The boards have given every student a chance to participate and have made learning much more interactive.\r\n\r\nWhen our students first saw the new whiteboards, they were excited and eager to use them. They immediately wanted to write on them and try them out. What was especially exciting was seeing how quickly they understood that the boards were not just something new—they were tools they could use to help each other learn.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue using the whiteboards as we work through our current lessons. In writing, students will use them to organize ideas, develop their responses, and revise their work. In reading comprehension, they will work together to identify important details and explain their thinking. In math, they will continue solving problems collaboratively and showing multiple ways to find an answer.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given our students more opportunities to collaborate, communicate, and take an active role in their learning.
