They allow students to enjoy choice time more freely by listening to their favorite music or watching shows and movies they love. They're also used during class instruction when students watch videos and answer questions, helping them stay focused and engaged. The water bottles have been especially helpful since many of our students spend time out in the community for work and community-based instruction. Now they can fill their bottles and take them with them on workdays, encouraging healthy habits and independence. Students also love using the electric pencil sharpener constantly! It's made written tasks much smoother and less frustrating compared to the manual sharpeners they had.\r\n\r\nThe laminator has been essential for students who communicate using visuals and icons. It has allowed me and my staff to create individualized visual schedules, icons, and classroom supports that are durable and easy to use. The cork bulletin board helps students stay organized by displaying job sites, assigned job coaches, weekly schedules, calendars, and important reminders like early release days. We also ended up receiving a microwave instead of a mini fridge, and it has been incredibly useful. Students are able to warm up lunches from home, make popcorn (their favorite), and it's been especially meaningful during birthday celebrations and class potlucks during the holidays.
