The shears have come in handy to harvest the pea and sunflower microgreens the students have been growing. In the spring, the students will have a garden bed for the medicinal plants and try them out in tea samples. The decorations, food and tank supplies are all great and just what we need.\r\n\r\nWe put up the 2026 calendar so we can track cleaning the tank, etc.\r\n\r\nThe fairy shrimp eggs sound fascinating. We are going to have to do some research to see what they need. The LED duck light is a nice addition to the calming corner. \r\n\r\nWe are happy to have a fish tank for daily care and observation to encourage responsibility, curiosity, and scientific thinking. With each bubbling filter and swimming fish, students will see how science connects to real life. For many students the fish tank becomes a safe visual anchor in the room—a silent, nonjudgmental presence that helps ground them throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nSome of the supplies were not available from Amazon, so those were replaced with 2 looms for weaving. We have yarn and directions, so we are looking forward to setting that up. Weaving introduces students to patterns, structure, and problem-solving in a tactile, creative way. They also enjoy the softness of the yarns that are in the blues color family. The two chairs we requested for the STEM center we're not available, so we replaced it with a director's chair next to the presentation center. They like it a lot because it's tall. These gifts have already made a big difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nMany of our donors may not realize just how powerful technology can be in early learning. The color printer allows us to bring our students' ideas and writing to life in full color. For young learners, seeing their work beautifully printed rather than in black and white is incredibly motivating. It helps us build an ethic of excellence—students are inspired to revise, improve, and take pride in their work when they can share it with families, peers, and the larger school community.\r\n\r\nOur students were especially excited about the galaxy slime! Since we had to replace some of the original small gadgets, this hands-on STEM material has been a wonderful alternative. It connects perfectly with our STEM theme for the year, giving students the chance to explore textures, reactions, and creativity while sparking joy and curiosity.\r\n\r\nSome students who are usually hesitant to share or engage have especially warmed up to these resources. The color printer has given reluctant writers a new sense of pride when they see their stories \"published,\" while the galaxy slime has encouraged quieter students to join in and collaborate with their peers.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a positive and lasting impact.
