Because of you, my 3rd graders now have access to new learning resources that are already making a meaningful difference in our daily lessons.\r\n\r\nWe are using these materials during our reading, writing, and hands-on learning time to deepen understanding and spark curiosity. One memorable moment happened during a recent class project when students worked together to explore a new concept using the resources you provided. I watched as students excitedly discussed their ideas, helped one another, and proudly shared their thinking with the class. These tools have helped turn learning into an active, engaging experience rather than just something we read about.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reaction was pure joy and excitement. Smiles spread across the room, and several students asked, \"Are these really for us?\" They were eager to dive right in and couldn't wait to start using them. That enthusiasm carried over into our lessons, increasing focus, participation, and confidence—especially for students who sometimes need a little extra encouragement.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, donors truly got a peek into our classroom. Right now, students are continuing to build on these experiences as we move forward with our current lesson and project. Next, they will be applying what they've learned by working independently and collaboratively to create and reflect on their own work. These resources will continue to support their growth as readers, thinkers, and problem-solvers throughout the year.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has made a lasting impact on my students and our classroom community. This hands-on, interactive approach encourages curiosity, perseverance, and confidence, making math more engaging and accessible for every student. \r\n\r\nYour support directly empowers them to take an active role in their learning, fostering both academic growth and a love for discovery. We've already put them to creative use in an exciting art project. Recently, we used the new paints and canvases to paint calaveras. My students truly enjoyed the experience of painting like a real artist on canvas, which offers a much more professional and engaging feel than working on standard paper. Beyond art, the supplies are making a difference in our daily routines. The colorful sticky notes and index cards have added a vibrant element to our note-taking lessons, making learning more exciting and fun. Finally, I am incredibly thankful to now have an abundance of essential supplies, such as new earbuds and whiteboard markers, readily available for my students to use whenever they are needed.\r\n\r\nMy students' initial reaction to the materials was priceless. They were so surprised when they first saw the boxes of supplies, and their excitement only grew as we started the unboxing process together. I believe the biggest source of excitement was the paint and canvas supplies, as painting on canvas is a special opportunity they don't normally get to experience in the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue to use these wonderful new resources, our next steps will involve using the painting supplies to create special holiday ornaments for our families. We plan on painting snowmen onto wooden cutouts. I am so thankful to have the necessary supplies to provide this kind of hands-on, memorable opportunity to my students. Thank you again for helping me to provide my students with what they need.","fullyFundedDate":1758762328372,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials/9755628/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Tornberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3707953_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1470973191855","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3707953"},{"teacherId":10276794,"projectId":9754618,"letterContent":"The introduction of the new texts has been exceptionally successful in fostering higher-order thinking skills and modern literacy practices within the classroom. These materials, which range beyond traditional narrative, have introduced critical new lessons in source analysis, comparative reading across mediums, and synthesizing complex, multi-layered arguments. Consequently, reading in my classroom has become a far more active and collaborative endeavor. It now centers on evidence-based discussion, with students frequently annotating to track thematic development and employing think-pair-share strategies to grapple with ambiguity. Instead of passive reception, we are seeing students actively constructing meaning, utilizing the texts as springboards for genuine intellectual exploration and debate, which represents a significant enhancement to our established reading routine.\r\n\r\nWe are particularly observing enthusiasm from several groups, especially those students who previously struggled to connect with traditional literary formats. For example, students like who thrive on non-fiction and research, are flourishing due to the new curriculum's focus on primary source documents and expository writing. They are taking on leadership roles in discussions, eager to share their findings and contextualize the reading material. Similarly, students who appreciate diverse perspectives and social commentary are engaging deeply with the contemporary voices present in these texts, finding the subject matter immediately relevant to their world. This renewed engagement across different learning profiles strongly validates the shift toward these more varied and challenging texts.","fullyFundedDate":1758761847592,"projectUrl":"project/operation-scholar-are-you-in/9754618/","projectTitle":"Operation Scholar: Are You In?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Cooper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10276794"},{"teacherId":10270818,"projectId":9753864,"letterContent":"The donations made a tremendous impact in our classroom! Classkick lets me create fun and interactive assignments that go beyond paper and pencil—my students can draw, type, add pictures, and more, all from their devices. Whether they're working solo or in small groups, they're more engaged because the platform feels more like something they'd use outside of school. And since I can see their work in real-time, I'm able to jump in and help right away, which keeps them from getting stuck or discouraged.\r\n\r\nOne of the coolest parts for the students is the ability to ask for help anonymously. That little feature has made a big difference, especially for the kids who are usually too shy to speak up. It's created this really supportive vibe where everyone's more willing to help each other. I've especially seen some of my quieter students come alive with this tool—they're more confident, more willing to take risks, and even stepping up to help others.
