Collaborative learning is the goal in our class. My students sit in groups (round tables) and have said goodbye to their desks. Working together is key for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. Socially it makes a huge difference when they have to interact with each other to solve problems and learn new information. But there lies the dilemma, they still need a space to call theirs, which is lacking. They have small tubs from the dollar store but they do not last or fit their papers. I want them to have somewhere to store their items and have a space to call their own. My classroom is my second home and I want my students to feel that too.
