Wow! \r\n\r\nParents are also able to view homework due dates, special events, PTA news, etc. AND.. there's a spot for parent signature & messages. We can hold parents and students accountable, and students know we are communicating on a daily basis. \r\n\r\nBecause of our planners, we are also able to teach our students responsibility, accountability, and independence. I have been able to print charts, pictures, graph paper, etc. One of the best things we've done is used the giant sized graph paper. My students used it to create their very own zoo plans & had to calculate area & perimeter. They had to create their \"blue prints\" and designed zoos complete with animal exhibits, walkways, bathrooms, etc.- a complete plan! They became architects and had to present their zoo ideas to get \"funding\". What a fun end of year activity!\r\n\r\nI am so very appreciative for your generosity, kindness, and care. Our fraction kits were amazing and so very useful. Each child was assigned a kit and he/she was able to use it to discover relationships between fractions. They were able to compare, order, and investigate relationships between 1/2, 1/4, 1/3, etc. Students were able to physically manipulate the pieces. Yay! \r\n\r\nAdditionally, we were able to discover fractions greater than 1. This concept is so difficult for students to understand. Because of our fraction kits, we were able to put all our wholes to count 1, 2, 3, etc. Then we were able to put the fractions right under so we were able to count: 1/2, 2/2, 3/2, 4/2, etc. Students were able to physically count the unit fractions! Yay!\r\n\r\nWe cannot thank you enough for our giant-sized, magnetic geometric pieces and fractions pieces we used on our boards. These have helped guide our learning and having them visibly on the board helps student understanding. These prizes helped my students stay on task, helped them make better decisions, and motivated them to do their work! \r\n\r\nWe also used these mochi prizes as gifts to students from our student council! Students got to choose the ones they liked best and even got a few to share with a friend! \r\n\r\nWe could never thank you for ALL your support! You've help make us better students, happier students, and more responsible students!
