Because of your support, we were able to purchase ABC stepping stones for our playground and Discovery Center rotations.\r\nThe excitement on my students' faces was unforgettable. As soon as they saw the stepping stones, they couldn't wait to start exploring and playing with them. Their enthusiasm was a wonderful reminder of how meaningful new learning opportunities can be for young learners.\r\n\r\nThese stepping stones will be used throughout the school day during recess, lunch, PE, and center rotations. Students can arrange the letters in alphabetical order, sort them by color or size, create different pathways, and invent their own games. The possibilities for creative play and learning are endless.\r\n\r\nWhat makes these stepping stones especially valuable is that they combine academic learning with physical activity. As students jump, balance, and move from stone to stone, they are reinforcing letter recognition and phonics skills while also developing coordination, balance, and gross motor skills. This hands-on approach helps make learning both engaging and memorable.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our students and helping create meaningful learning experiences. Your generosity has already brought so much joy to our classroom, and these stepping stones will continue to benefit students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1777923862754,"projectUrl":"project/giant-steps-to-abcs/10197546/","projectTitle":"Giant Steps to ABCs!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Russell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5080720"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_70613","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":696,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":22,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":52,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"19.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.1,"schoolId":70613,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Corky McMillin Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Corky McMillin Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/chula-vista-elementary-school-district/corky-mcmillin-elementary-school/70613"}
